Ohio State scholars present tobacco research at Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists
CPH student Emanuel Tewolde recognized for presentation

Six undergraduate students involved in tobacco and substance use research attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) in Pittsburgh this month, giving them an opportunity to present research and network with professionals and peers.
Four Ohio State students presented at the conference, including CPH undergraduate Emanuel Tewolde who shared his poster related to his menthol research and was recognized by ABRCMS for outstanding work in the public health and social and behavior sciences categories.
The students are members of Ohio State’sMaximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) cohorts and are mentored byAmy Ferketich, professor and associate dean of academic and student affairs, Assistant ProfessorMin-Ae Song, and Associate ProfessorOlorunfemi Adetonaas part of the two-year research-intensive training program.
