A public health degree opens up so many possibilities for an impactful career. Whether it is in a more traditional path such as community health, epidemiology or health care, or a career in a complimentary field such as public affairs, engineering or law, public health is everywhere.
At the College of Public Health, we partner with eight highly respected colleges at Ohio State to provide 11 dual and combined degree programs with our Master of Health Administration, Master of Public Health and Doctor of Philosophy degrees to diversify your education and expand your career options. You also can create your own dual degree with the help of college staff.
There are two major advantages to pursuing a dual or combined degree at Ohio State:
1. It saves time. For example, two master’s degrees, separately, would take at least four years to earn. But when you combine them, it takes only three.
2. It is efficient and more affordable. Pursuing a dual or combined degree allows you to pursue your diverse interests, reduces your time to degree and will save you thousands of dollars in tuition and fees.
Students who are interested in a dual or combined degree should know it does take work to get it done. To be successful, you need to be proactive and get started early. Despite the hard work, the payoff can be great, equipping you with a unique, interdisciplinary understanding and a qualification that will set you apart in the job market.
The ideal time to decide to purse a dual or combined degree is during the first year of grad school.
Admissions staff from both programs will work with you to make sure it is the best fit for your career aspirations.
