Practice good public health

  • Wash your hands often and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water. Use alcohol hand rub as a backup.
  • Keep your hands off of your face.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Throw away your tissue after one use.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Keep a safe 6-foot distance when in any kind of public setting.
  • If you are ill, stay home. If you have fever and a dry cough, self-quarantine in a separate room with a separate bath if possible and do not share kitchen utensils.
  • If you are seriously ill, seek medical advice.
  • If you are over 60 or have any health conditions that put you at greater risk of respiratory infection (heart conditions, diabetes, etc.), the safest practice is to minimize your potential exposure as much as possible.
