Columbus Public Health, Environmental Health Division outreach worker positions

Two outreach worker positions within the Tobacco Prevention and Control Program are available.

These positions provide a chance to earn income and allow students to enhance their resumes and network with Public Health professionals. The hours and schedule are flexible between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Key details:

  • Pay Range: $20.60 to $22.89 per hour
  • Job Type: Temporary, not to exceed 480 hours per year. 
  • Department: Columbus Public Health, 240 Parsons Ave Columbus, OH 43215
  • Job Responsibilities: The role involves outreach and education for the Tobacco Prevention & Control program, including compliance checks and support for community compliance activities. Responsibilities may include visiting regulated businesses, educating retailers, and participating in administrative hearings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Due to the nature of this position applicants must be under 21 years old. 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 
  • Proficiency in descriptive writing and basic mathematical skills.
  • Prior work experience in customer service, youth outreach, tobacco cessation, or public health preferred, but not necessary.
