The university is on a journey to streamline our cloud storage solutions, including the retirement of BuckeyeBox by the end of 2021. The migration from BuckeyeBox to OneDrive for College of Public Health faculty and staff will begin the evening of Wednesday, April 7.

What to know about fraudulent unemployment claims

In the past year, the number of fraudulent unemployment claims filed in the United States has dramatically increased. This is not an issue unique to the state of Ohio. However, Ohio State employees need to be aware of the threat and know how to access the resources available, if notified by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services or human resources at Ohio State that a potential fraudulent claim has been filed in their name.

CPH Student Case Competition

"Community Health Implications of Ohio’s COVID-19 Response in County Jail Populations"
This year, we’ve partnered with Case Western Reserve University to amplify students' case competition experience. On April 7, during National Public Health Week, teams at Ohio State and Case Western will compete internally. The top team from each university will then compete against each other for first and second place. Monetary prizes are up for grabs! Students must sign up by March 12.

Cunningham Appalachian Student Scholarship

A scholarship of up to $1,500 will be awarded for the 2021-2022 academic year. Applications will be reviewed based on academic merit and commitment to student leadership. Undergraduate students from the Appalachian region in any Arts and Sciences major are encouraged to apply.

How to differentiate between Time Off and Leave of Absence in Workday

A Time Off request is used for short-term absences, such as vacation or sick days, and is generally approved by the manager. A Leave of Absence request is used for long-term absences, and includes Family and Medical Leave, Medical Leave or Other Leave of Absence (e.g., personal leave). Most of these requests are approved by central HR staff with the exception of Other Leave of Absence, which is approved by the manager.
