New course for Summer 24: Policy as a Prevention Strategy

Policy as a Prevention Strategy (PUBHHBP 4558/6558) is a new summer session one course offered in the College of Public Health for undergraduate and graduate students.

This writing-intensive course will introduce students to the social-ecological approach to prevention in a public health context, with an emphasis on primary prevention. Undergraduate students will work together to develop submission-ready manuscript on a self-selected topic related to policy and prevention, as a literature review or comparison of existing policies.

Undergraduate students will work together to develop submission-ready manuscript on a self-selected topic related to policy and prevention, as a literature review or comparison of existing policies.  This course is intended for students who have an interest in public health, prevention, social-ecological theory or policy, systems and environmental change (PSEC) strategies.

Undergraduate students should enroll in PUBHHBP 4558 and graduate students should enroll in PUBHHBP 6558.
