Shradha Shendge

College of Public Health student Shradha Shendge earned third place in Ohio State’s 2025 Health Sciences Poetry Contest for her poem “late-summer figs.”

Shendge, who has been writing poetry since middle school, describes the piece as “a short and sweet reflection that captures the feeling of a summer well-spent with people you love.”

“What’s more wholesome than sharing fresh fruit with those closest to you?,” said the graduate student, who is working toward her MPH in the Division of Health Behavior and Health Promotion.

The Health Sciences Poetry Contest is an annual event that invites medical and health sciences students to express creativity through the arts.
