The Needs Assessment is a statewide evaluation that aims to improve the ability of Ohioans to prevent COVID-19 transmission and minimize its impacts on communities. Professors Julianna Nemeth and Tasleem Padamsee, who co-led the project in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Health, discussed the assessment and its recommendations at a webinar on Nov. 10.

During this webinar, the authors shared findings and recommendations from the report, including specific actions that collaborators at community, local and state levels can take to facilitate access to COVID-19 protections, reduce infections and deaths, and set the stage for long-term reduced health disparities and improved health outcomes. Ohio’s communities can use the Needs Assessment to inform COVID-19 response, recovery, research and policy.

This report was led by experts at The Ohio State University College of Public Health in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Health.
