The Ohio School-Based Health Alliance (“Ohio Alliance”) is a professional, nonpartisan, nonprofit1 organization headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The mission of the Ohio Alliance is to improve access to comprehensive, integrated health services through school-based health care to advance equity and improve health and education outcomes for students, their families, and communities. The Ohio Alliance is the only statewide organization created to advance and support the sustainability and expansion of school-based health care in Ohio.

Applied Practice Experience

Interns can work on a variety of projects and initiatives at the Ohio Alliance including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, literature review, developing policy briefs and factsheets, stakeholder engagement, partnership building, advocacy, and communications. Interns will have the opportunity to interact with and work alongside the Ohio Alliance’s health and education state and local-level partners, including health care provider, school district, public health, community-based organization and state agency partners. 

The Ohio Alliance seeks qualified applicants who are:
- Interested in learning about school-based health care, healthcare administration, public health, health and education policy, and nonprofit operations
- Able to provide at minimum, 10 hours per week
- Highly motivated
- Strong writing and communication skills
