Purpose/Mission of Organization
The Wellness Connection at BGSU is committed to supporting healthy lifestyle behaviors through programs which incorporate all aspects of wellness. Comprehensive services including free HIV testing, online tools and assessments, and educational opportunities that foster optimum health and wellness for BGSU students and the community. We also provide education on general wellness issues, nutrition, alcohol, sexual health and bystander intervention. A variety of programs and presentations are available on each topic and can be reserved for campus groups, residence halls and special events.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to assist with the operations and implement of mental health and well-being events, classes, workshops, and programs. Also, to promote the mission of the Division of Health and Wellness in action and in spirit.  

Internship Overview/Details 
•    On-campus position with a focus on serving the faculty, staff, and student populations.
•    Macro-focused with mezzo and micro competency development opportunities. 
•    MSW and BSW internships available.

Duties/Responsibilities 
•    Develop, implement, and evaluate a personal project. Past examples include a DBT-based neurodivergent workshop, therapy dog program, and “Crafting is Coping” event. 
•    Assist with special events hosted by the Wellness Connection, such as the BGSU PAWS Team, Late Night events, and awareness programs (Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month). 
•    Collaborate with campus and community partners.    
•    Perform other duties as required by professional staff.
