Job description

Have you ever been interested in the relationship between healthcare and the environments where it is delivered? Since the time of Florence Nightingale we have been aware of the connection between the built environment and a patient's recovery and health. NAC Architecture believes that design and research go hand-in-hand. We strive to identify evidence-based solutions to a design-based approach to problem-solving. The Healthcare Practice Research Intern will leverage their attainment of the Graduate Program Competencies to support the Thought Leadership of the NAC Healthcare Design Practice group. The selected intern(s) will collaborate with a Thought Leader from the Healthcare Practice group to support an existing research project or to establish a new project, depending on the intern's interests, skills, and accordance with the APE requirements.
Some examples of possible projects include annotated bibliography/literature review, co-author of whitepaper, MPH related informational/educational presentation to Healthcare Practice Group membership, survey development, needs assessment, and data analysis.

Qualifications
The nature of the position is research-oriented and therefore applicants should be comfortable with tasks such as compiling an annotated bibliography, completing a review of existing literature, writing in an academic/professional tone, properly citing sources according to any MPH program adopted style guide(s). Interns won't necessarily be completing all activities in the research lifecycle but should have a familiarity with [quantitative, qualitative, or mixed] data collection methods as well as analysis and interpretation.
This opportunity will either be fully remote or hybrid in-person and remote. Interested applicants should be able to use normal business software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Zoom, e-mail, and some additional web-based productivity platforms), comfortable working unsupervised, able to meet deadlines, have the ability to attend some meetings during normal business hours (remotely is always an option), regularly check email and provide timely responses, and communicate in a professional manner.
