Gia Barboza-Salerno receives Child Abuse & Neglect Article of the Year Award

Article analyzes impact of COVID-19 on child abuse and neglect in Los Angeles.

 Assistant Professor Gia Barboza-Salerno has been recognized with the Child Abuse & Neglect Article of the Year Award for the 2021 paper "A spatiotemporal analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on child abuse and neglect in the city of Los Angeles, California.”

The article was published in the journal Child Abuse & Neglect, an international and interdisciplinary journal focused on child welfare, health, humanitarian aid, justice, mental health, public health and social service systems. The award was voted on by the journal’s associate editors and editorial board.
