The STD Surveillance Network, a CDC-funded program co-led by Ohio State and Columbus Public Health, is seeking at least two public health students as phone interviewers.
Interviewers work about 15 hours per week. Previous MPH students have done their APE alongside this position and used data they helped collect for their ILE. Two former students just presented their ILE work at a national conference.
The work is ideal for people interested in sexual health and sexually transmitted infections or those who may want careers in local public health. Applicants must be comfortable talking about sensitive topics and must be comfortable calling people on the phone. We provide extensive training and shadowing so interviewers will feel ready by the time they are making phone calls.
