Join our panel discussion and dive into the fundamental questions surrounding ethics of risk and benefit in research.
Researchers must carefully balance possible risks against expected benefits to ensure ethical study design. Much has been discussed about how to determine risks of research participate and whether there are limits to how risky research can be. Less explored is how we should understand the prospect of benefit. What should count as a benefit of research participation? Who gets to decide this?
This panel will feature Aaron Segal, PhD Assistant Professor of Bioethics at Kansas City University and Megan Roberts, PhD Associate Professor of Health Behavior and Health Promotion at Ohio State.
