The National Day of Racial Healing is a time to contemplate our shared values and create the blueprint together for how we heal from the effects of racism.

All are welcome for the National Day of Racial Healing event hosted by the College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.

The National Day of Racial Healing is an opportunity to bring ALL people together in their common humanity and inspire collective action to create a more just and equitable world. The day is observed every year on the Tuesday following Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

All events will be a hybrid format with in-person events taking place at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center along with on Zoom.

Agenda

Morning Session

7:30-9:30 a.m. - Start the day with the Environmental Professionals Network Breakfast featuring a keynote by Dr. Gail Myers who will address, “Recognition of historical injustices in agriculture and the importance of environmental experiences for racial healing”. Please note the EPN Breakfast is a separate registration and there is a fee if attending in person. There is no cost for virtual access.

11:30 a.m. to Noon - Lunch

Afternoon Session

Noon to 1:15 p.m. - Dr. Alia Dietch, presenting, “The healing power of nature and public lands”

1:30-2:45 p.m. - Kip Holley presenting, “Cultural Humility”
