Health Communication and Health Promotion Internship/Practicum

Ever heard of Translational Research? It’s where we take research out of the academic journals and get it into the community. At the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Translational Research Team focuses on preventing the leading cause of death and disability for kids – preventable injury. Gain valuable hands-on experience in a non-profit organization and a greater understanding of public health communications and promotion in action.

CIRP’s Translational Research intern would work as a part of the Translational Research team to create, distribute, and evaluate health education materials based on CIRP’s research. Intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Assist in the development of various health education materials related to pediatric injury prevention
Researching new insights and innovative solutions to health problems
Learn how to apply behavioral theory in project design
Write social media posts and design graphics for social media
Assisting team with various other projects
