A proud Cleveland, OH native and first-generation college student, Jimmy is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University. He graduated with his B.S. in Health Sciences in 2020 and recently completed his MPH in Health Behavior and Health Promotion with a focus on Addressing Health Disparities in 2022.
He was first introduced to public health concepts through an internship with Equitas Health where he assisted in community outreach and education related to HIV and other STIs. Since then he has been engaged in both undergraduate and graduate research related to disproportionately high incidence rates of HIV in the Black community, PrEP adherence, etc.
He currently serves as a Research Associate under Dr. JaNelle Ricks on different projects targeted toward gender and sexual minority adolescents. Additionally, he is the Senior Manager of Programs Training and Evaluation at Equitas Health where he leads program evaluation, quality improvement, and data analysis efforts across different departments. He ultimately is on a path to becoming a clinical physician who specializes in HIV/AIDS care for historically excluded populations.
