Executive Committee

Responsibilities are to advise the dean on:

  • Developing a budget for the college
  • Establishing an agenda for college faculty meetings
  • Committee appointments and memberships
  • Developing, interpreting, and implementing policies of the college
  • Any other administrative matters brought before it

Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Review candidates for appointment, reappointment, promotion, and/or tenure and make a recommendation to the eligible faculty
  • Guide candidates for promotion and/or tenure in the preparation of their dossier
  • Interpret policies and procedures for candidates and faculty involved in decisions

Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Take steps to promote a culture of diversity within the CPH
  • Advise the dean on activities that will promote a culture of acceptance, such as Diversity Day, periodic surveys, workshops, and guest speakers focused on the topic of diversity
  • Monitor implementation of the college's diversity plan.

Wellness Committee

Space Committee

Responsibilities: recommend to the dean space assignments, changes and requests within the college. The committee is chaired by the dean and includes the senior associate dean for academic affairs, the associate dean for research, the assistant dean for finance and administration, and the facilities manager.

Graduate Studies Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Review and make recommendations to the faculty on major program structure and policy decisions regarding academic matters
  • Reviewing application materials and recommend students for admission
  • Establish and coordinate policy in areas having college-wide impact, including courses shared by more than one degree program; approving new graduate courses or substantive changes in existing courses; developing sources of student support and establishing policies for its allocation; and establishing policies for graduate associate positions funded by CPH
  • Monitor student progress and recommend actions to the Graduate School as necessary
  • Review student petitions and act or make recommendations
  • Promote growth and excellence in graduate education, and visibility of the CPH nationally and internationally
  • Coordinate student recruitment efforts

Undergraduate Studies Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Policy issues and overall coordination and direction of undergraduate academic programs and courses in the college
  • Includes the Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree with interdisciplinary specializations, the  undergraduate minor, and also General Education (GE) courses.

Champions of Public Health Selection Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in publicizing the Champions of Public Health award and encouraging nominations
  • Select the Champions of Public Health Award winners
  • Membership changes each year, and includes faculty, staff, alumni, and past winners

Employee of the Year Selection Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in publicizing the Employee of the Year Award and encouraging nominations
  • Select the Employee of the Year winner
  • Members are selected each year and include one faculty member from each division, plus previous years' winners.

Excellence in Teaching Award Selection Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in publicizing the Excellence in Teaching award and encouraging nominations
  • Select the Excellence in Teaching award recipeint
  • Members are students from each Division/Program recommended by faculty. Ex-Officio members are the last three recipients of the award and the Director of OAPSS.

Dean's Advisory Council

Responsibilities:

  • Advise the dean and college on any matters that are brought to it, particularly relating to strategic decisions
  • Assist the college in connecting with external constituencies to advance the mission of the college
