Professional School Personal Statement Workshop

Are you applying to a professional school in a health-care field (such as medicine, optometry, dentistry, etc.) this summer? If so, you may be interested in participating in the Virtual Pre-health Personal Statement Workshop.

This is a small group workshop consisting of three sessions that will help get you started on this important, and often difficult, component of your application—the personal statement. This is a synchronous online workshop and you must be able to attend all three sessions in order to participate. Registration is required.

Many students procrastinate beginning the personal statement, and if you’ve ever tried writing one, you know that it will take many drafts and revisions to get your statement to where you want it to be. In the workshop we will begin by looking at examples and discussing how to get started. Next, you will compose, workshop, and revise drafts of your own personal statement.

Who is the workshop for?

Only for current Ohio State students and recent graduates who are applying to a professional school in a healthcare field, such as veterinary, medical, dental, etc. in the summer of 2024. No freshmen or sophomores.

Dates

You must commit to attending all THREE sessions – no exceptions will be made – in order to participate. Each session will last an hour and a half on these dates:

  • Monday, February 5 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm
  • Monday, February 19 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm
  • Monday, March 4 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Registration is required and will close on Thursday, February 1 at midnight.
