CPH undergraduates win national trivia competition

The team, made up of Casey Cen, Sarah Grim, Mindy Hoang, Maria Lucas, Nick Rushlow, Ajay Saraf and Elli Schwartz, won the grand prize of $1,000. They were coached by doctoral student Brent Emerson and doctoral candidate Robert Hood. 

The Scholar Bowl is an annual national competition for undergraduate students interested in public health. Teams compete in two types of competitions: a quiz bowl and trivia round, followed by a case competition in which students must develop a creative solution to a public health issue presented.

Public Health Buckeyes make an impression at APHA

The American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo hosted more than 10,000 public health practitioners from around the world, including approximately 40 CPH faculty, students, staff and alumni.

Throughout the four-day San Diego event, APHA attendees explored public health-based solutions to the issue of health equity. Numerous Public Health Buckeyes presented seminars of their own, including:

CPH presents 2017 Thompson Public Health Award to Columbus health commissioner

The college honored Columbus Public Health Commissioner Teresa Long for over 30 years of public health leadership.

The College of Public Health presented the 2017 Thompson Public Health Award to Columbus Public Health Commissioner Teresa Long, MD, MPH, for her leadership and commitment to improving public health issues throughout her 31-year career.
