Renowned author and public health and health care leader Daniel E. Dawes will discuss the political drivers of health and well-being and the opportunities to address health challenges through policy reform. A moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A will follow.

Daniel E. Dawes is a widely respected health care and public health leader, health policy expert, educator and researcher who serves as senior vice president of global health and founding dean of the School of Global Health at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn. He is the author of two groundbreaking health policy books: “150 Years of ObamaCare” and “The Political Determinants of Health.” Dawes is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and an elected fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. He serves as an advisor to the White House on health equity initiatives, an appointed member of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee to the Director and the National Institute of Health’s National Advisory Council for Nursing Research.
