The John Slade Award honors Society For Research On Nicotine & Tobacco members who have made outstanding contributions to public health and tobacco control through science-based public policy and public advocacy.

Congratulations to third-year Public Health student, Alex Ochoa, for winning the Undergraduate Abstract of Distinction at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Research Retreat. Alex presented on Assessing the Nutrition Environment in the South Linden Neighborhood and urged community intervention to improve high quality food options and development of new food markets in the neighborhood. 

This year’s Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare use a variety of strategies to widen access to care and build communities of wellness. Inequality in healthcare is a problem requiring creative solutions. Modern Healthcare’s Top Diversity Leaders program recognizes those forging the way.

The Power of One award focuses on the little things someone does each day that has the power to affect a great many people. The individual inspires us with a willingness and ability to help others. 

The Whole Person Health Care Champion Award presented by Medical Mutual recognizes a provider of health & wellness services and/or a patient advocate who has helped patients overcome racial, economic, ability, and/or language barriers to care and/or provided radically inclusive LGBTQ+ and/or HIV/AIDS healthcare. 

HEED recognizes equity, inclusive excellence efforts
