Six undergraduate students involved in tobacco and substance use research attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) in Pittsburgh this month, giving them an opportunity to present research and network with professionals and peers.
Four Ohio State students presented at the conference, including CPH undergraduate Emanuel Tewolde who shared his poster related to his menthol research and was recognized by ABRCMS for outstanding work in the public health and social and behavior sciences categories.
The students are members of Ohio State’s Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) cohorts and are mentored by Amy Ferketich, professor and associate dean of academic and student affairs, Assistant Professor Min-Ae Song, and Associate Professor Olorunfemi Adetona as part of the two-year research-intensive training program.
