New Travel implementation for faculty/staff

Ohio State is preparing to implement a new requirement to University Travel as previously sent out by Dr. Bruce McPheron on July 17th (see original message here.)

Starting August 1st, all business-related flights must be booked through Ohio State’s Corporate Travel Planners.

This means that all airfare must be booked through the university travel agent Corporate Travel Planners (CTP). After you have an approved T #, you can book by calling a full service agent or using the on-line portal Concur. For more information regarding tools/resources related to CTP and setting up your travel profile, please visit the travel office website: https://busfin.osu.edu/buy-schedule-travel/travel

Universal use of our travel partners will have both immediate and long-term benefits that support the college’s strategic plan. Benefits include:

  • Discounted rates: Our negotiated discounts for flights and vehicle rentals can provide immediate savings, and these will only grow as more university travelers make use of our contracts.
  • Assistance to travelers: The University can provide more support when our travelers are affected by emergencies. This duty of care is essential.
  • Partnership opportunities: By better harnessing our buying power, the university can negotiate additional benefits for travelers and revenue opportunities (funding for scholarships, student assistance, research, etc.) to support the university’s mission.
  • Agent assisted service: Can properly document any difference in costs by adding personal/vacation time. CTP will split final payment and the business portion paid via University prepayment and personal/vacation portion paid via personal credit card

As always, rental cars must be booked with National Rental Car or Enterprise Rent-A-Car using the university contract. These can be reserved either through the Concur Online Booking Tool or our Business Rental Solutions Link

Please contact CPH-Fiscal@osu.edu if you have any questions regarding these changes.
